INTRODUCTION: Culturally tailored support group interventions can help family caregivers. Little is known about the impacts of integrating philosophical thoughts in the interventions on the psychosocial wellbeing of family caregivers of persons with dementia. METHODOLOGY: A program integrating Chinese philosophies was provided to caregivers in the intervention group. A total of 33 and 30 caregivers in Hong Kong joined the intervention and control groups. They were asked to complete pre- and post-tests to assess their psychosocial health. RESULTS: There were significant positive changes for the level of satisfaction with social support ( DISCUSSION: The intervention could provide insight into how culturally tailored interventions can improve the psychosocial wellbeing of family caregivers in Chinese communities.
