After over 3 years of pursuing the case of Philippines vs. China in the East Sea, on the twelfth of July, 2016, it has finally been decided that Philippines was the winner. This verdict has a great significance to other countries in the resolution of the East Sea disputes. During the investigation, this article shows that Philippines was absolutely successful in the selection of the jurisdictional procedures and the lawsuit contents. This is the valuable experience for Vietnam in the resolution of the disputes 'over the East Sea. Therefore, Vietnam should study this case carefully in aflexible way to suit the specific real situation of Vietnam and take into account all its possible impacts.Trong quá trình nghiên cứu, bài viết thấy được Philippines đã thành công trong việc lựa chọn thủ tục tài phán và nội dung khởi kiện. Đây là kinh nghiệm quý báu cho Việt Nam trong giải quyết tranh chấp Biển Đông. Vì vậy, Việt Nam cần nghiên cứu kỹ về vụ kiện nhưng không nên rập khuôn mà phải linh hoạt để phù hợp với tình hình cụ thể trong nước và tính đến mọi khả năng tác động của nó.
