Dinuclear aluminum complexes bearing a constrained 'indanimine' ligand based on a short hydrazine bridge were synthesized. Single-crystal X-ray crystallography reveals bimetallic penta-coordinated aluminum centers having a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry.
