In the 21st century, we are witnessing remarkable advancements in the life sciences, medicine, agriculture, and other fields, many of which are specifically attributable to advancements in molecular biology. Using literature reports and quantitative evaluations, this essay highlights molecular biology's unique characteristics within the frame of its current practice to understand their influence on the widespread use of molecular approaches among life sciences such as veterinary, fisheries, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and nursery sciences. We evaluate the progress of molecular biology within the context of sociological theories of scientific change to suggest a new perspective that views molecular biology as a playground.
