In the context of promoting administrative reform and socio-economic development, improving the responsibility of cadres, civil servants, and public employees is one of the urgent requirements to ensure the implementation of functions and tasks. It also contributes to solving administrative problems for people and promptly providing a full range of services to serve essential needs and legitimate benefits regarding social security issues. This paper analyzed the need to enhance responsibility and summarized the current situation of the responsibilities of officials, civil servants, and public employees in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on the paper’s findings, some solutions were proposed to improve the responsibility of performing the functions and tasks of officials, civil servants, and public employees in Ho Chi Minh City in the near future.Trong bối cảnh đẩy mạnh cải cách hành chính và phát triển kinh tế xã hội, nâng cao trách nhiệm của đội ngũ cán bộ, công chức, viên chức là một trong những yêu cầu cấp bách nhằm đảm bảo thực hiện chức năng, nhiệm vụ. Đồng thời, góp phần giải quyết yêu cầu về thủ tục hành chính cho người dân và cung ứng kịp thời đầy đủ các dịch vụ phục vụ nhu cầu thiết yếu, lợi ích chính đáng về các vấn đề an sinh xã hội. Bài viết phân tích sự cần thiết nâng cao trách nhiệm, khái quát thực trạng về trách nhiệm của cán bộ, công chức, viên chức tại TP. Hồ Chí Minh thời gian qua. Từ đó, bài viết đề xuất một số giải pháp nâng cao trách nhiệm thực hiện chức năng, nhiệm vụ của cán bộ, công chức, viên chức ở TP. Hồ Chí Minh trong thời gian tới.
