Health education counseling is one of nurses’ main and important tasks. Nurses are required to have good knowledge and skills in health education counseling to meet the needs of health education counseling for patients in general and inpatients in particular. Various factors can affect nurses’ knowledge and counseling skills. We conducted this study with the objective of describing some factors related to the knowledge and skills of health education counseling of nurses and midwives at Thien An Maternity Hospital in 2022. The findings of this study are expected to provide the leadership of Thien An Maternity Hospital with evidence on such factors, thereby taking measures to improve the knowledge and skills of the nursing and midwifery team. Study participants and methods: This cross-sectional descriptive and analytical study was conducted with the participation of all 15 medical professional, including nurses and midwives, caring for inpatients from April 2022 to July 2022. A survey instrument was used to collect general information about the partiipations, assess their knowledge, and evaluate their health education counseling skills. Results: The study found no statistically significant differences in the average health education knowledge scores across various participant groups. This included comparisons by age (under 30 vs. over 30 years old), marital status (single vs. married), education level (college degree vs. university degree), years of seniority (under 3 years vs. over 3 years), and position (nurses vs. midwives). However, the analysis of skill-related factors revealed some statistically significant differences. The average health education counseling skill scores were higher for the group of nurses and midwives over 30 years old compared to those under 30. The married participants also scored higher on counseling skills than the single participants. Additionally, the university degree group had higher counseling skill scores than the college degree group. All of these skill-related differences were statistically significant at the p <
0.05 level. Conclusion: Younger age, single marital status, and college-level education are factors related to the health education counseling skills of nurses and midwives at the study site. No statistically significant differences were found in the average knowledge and skill scores across other factors examined.Tư vấn giáo dục sức khỏe là một trong những nhiệm vụ chính và quan trọng của điều dưỡng. Người điều dưỡng đòi hỏi cần có cả kiến thức và kỹ năng tư vấn giáo dục sức khỏe tốt nhằm đáp ứng nhu cầu tư vấn giáo dục sức khỏe của người bệnh nói chung và người bệnh nội trú nói riêng. Có nhiều yếu tố có thể ảnh hưởng đến kiến thức, kỹ năng tư vấn của điều dưỡng. Nhằm giúp Ban Lãnh Đạo bệnh viện Phụ Sản Thiện An có bằng chứng về các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến kiến thức, kỹ năng tư vấn giáo dục sức khỏe từ đó có biện pháp nâng cao kiến thức, kỹ năng của đội ngũ điều dưỡng, hộ sinh. Chúng tôi tiến hành nghiên cứu này với mục tiêu: Mô tả một số yếu tố liên quan đến kiến thức, kỹ năng tư vấn giáo dục sức khỏe của điều dưỡng hộ sinh tại bệnh viện Phụ Sản Thiện An năm 2022. Đối tượng và phương pháp: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang có phân tích trên toàn bộ 15 điều dưỡng, hộ sinh đang chăm sóc người bệnh nội trú trong thời gian từ tháng 4/2022 - 7/2022. Sử dụng bộ công cụ phát vấn nhằm thu thập thông tin chung, đánh giá kiến thức, đánh giá kỹ năng tư vấn giáo dục sức khỏe của điều dưỡng, hộ sinh. Kết quả: Trong nghiên cứu này không tìm thấy sự khác biệt có ý nghĩa thống kê về điểm trung bình kiến thức giáo dục sức khỏe giữa các nhóm điều dưỡng, hộ sinh dưới và trên 30 tuổi, đã kết hôn và độc thân, cao đẳng và đại học, thâm niên dưới và trên 3 năm cũng như vị trí công tác điều dưỡng so với hộ sinh. Về các yếu tố liên quan đến kỹ năng: điểm trung bình kỹ năng giáo dục sức khỏe của nhóm điều dưỡng, hộ sinhtrên 30 tuổi cao hơn nhóm dưới 30 tuổi. Nhóm đã kết hôn cao hơn nhóm độc thân. Nhóm đại học cao hơn nhóm cao đẳng. Các sự khác biệt này có ý nghĩa thống kê với p <
0,05. Kết luận: Một số liên quan đến kỹ năng giáo dục sức khỏe của điều dưỡng, hộ sinh tại cơ sở nghiên cứu là trẻ tuổi, còn độc thân, trình độ cao đẳng. còn lại không tìm thấy sự khác biệt có ý nghĩa thống kê về trung bình điểm kiến thức, kỹ năng với các yếu tố khác.
