The application of remote sensing technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has become a modern and effective method for forest resource monitoring. At Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, students are trained to utilize these technologies to analyze forest cover dynamics. Experimental research conducted in Thai Nguyen Province for the period 2010–2023 enables students to engage with theoretical concepts and practice using software tools like ENVI and ArcGIS. The results help students master the workflow from satellite image processing to the development of current status and change maps. Furthermore, they gain insights into applying this knowledge in real-world production, such as resource monitoring, land-use planning, and disaster prevention. The application of remote sensing technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has become a modern and effective method for forest resource monitoring.
