In the context of modern education, the role of teachers is not only to impart knowledge but also to motivate and support the comprehensive development of students. One of the important factors determining the effectiveness of education is the teacher’s personal competence. This competence includes not only professional knowledge, but also pedagogical skills, the ability to interact and understand students’ psychology. This article studies the complex relationship between teachers’ personal competence and students’ motivation and achievement. First, the assessment of teachers’ personal competence includes defining the concept as well as influencing factors. Through a comprehensive review of the existing literature, the article also examines how teachers’ confidence in their teaching ability affects students’ attractiveness and learning performance. The article then makes some recommendations on how to increase teachers’ personal competence to improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes.Trong bối cảnh giáo dục hiện đại, vai trò của giảng viên không chỉ dừng lại ở việc truyền đạt kiến thức mà còn bao gồm việc tạo động lực và hỗ trợ sự phát triển toàn diện của sinh viên. Một trong những yếu tố quan trọng quyết định hiệu quả giáo dục là năng lực bản thân của giảng viên. Năng lực này bao gồm không chỉ kiến thức chuyên môn, mà còn kỹ năng sư phạm, khả năng tương tác và thấu hiểu tâm lý sinh viên. Bài báo này điều tra mối liên kết phức tạp giữa tự hiệu lực của giảng viên và động lực cũng như thành tích của sinh viên. Trước hết đánh giá tự hiệu lực của giảng viên bao gồm việc định nghĩa khái niệm cũng như các yếu tố ảnh hưởng. Thông qua việc đánh giá toàn diện các tài liệu hiện có, bài báo cũng xem xét cách tự tin của giảng viên trong khả năng giảng dạy ảnh hưởng đến sự hấp dẫn của sinh viên và hiệu suất học tập. Bài báo sau đó đưa ra một số khuyến nghị về cách tăng cường năng lực bản thân giảng viên, qua đó nâng cao động lực và kết quả học tập của sinh viên.
