The total alkaloid content in the extract (arecoline) was weighted using acid - base titration according to Vietnamese Pharmacopoeia V. Results: 3 times extraction with 60% EtOH at 60°C in 12 hours gave the optimal result with 64.48% extraction efficiency
the average total alkaloid content (arecoline) was 0,4572%. Conclusions: The extraction efficiency and the total alkaloid content ofArecae seeds (Semen Arecae catechl) extract ore influenced by solvent concentration (ethanol), temperature, time and the number of extractions. Extracting 3 times with 60% ethanol solvent, in 12 hours, at 60°C is the optimal extraction condition to obtain the highest extract volume and alkaloid content.
