Cross-border human trafficking is a kind of crime which is organized, transnational recognized, defined, and addressed through coordinated mechanisms in international cooperation on the prevention and combating of cross - border human trafficking such as the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (TOC), the Protocol to prevent, suppress and punish Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children (TIP), as well as regional and bilateral cooperation initiatives. Therefore, in the process of developing and perfecting Vietnamese law on the prevention and combating of cross-border human trafficking, it is necessary to actively and responsibly align with international conventions on cross-border human anti-trafficking.Tội phạm mua bán người xuyên biên giới là nhóm tội phạm có tổ chức, xuyên quốc gia và được nhận diện, được định nghĩa, được tạo các cơ chế phối hợp trong các hoạt động hợp tác quốc tế về phòng, chống mua bán người như Công ước TOC, Nghị định thư TIP, cùng các hoạt động hợp tác cấp khu vực và song phương. Do vậy, trong việc xây dựng và hoàn thiện pháp luật về phòng, chống mua bán người xuyên biên giới ở Việt Nam cần tích cực, chủ động, có trách nhiệm tương thích với các điều ước quốc tế về phòng, chống mua bán người xuyên biên giới.
