A quantitative research approach was utilized to comprehend the present state ofmanaging international faculty within public higher education institutions (HEIs) in Vietnamand discern the human resource management model employed by these institutions. Thestudy surveyed 210 participants from 56 public HEIs in Vietnam to explore their perspectiveson human resource management practices with international faculty. The findings revealedthat public HEIs in Vietnam managed international faculty following characteristicsreminiscent of the Michigan human resource management model. Various human resourcepractices, encompassing Recruitment, Performance evaluation, Compensation and rewards,and Training and development, were adopted to varying degrees across multiple public HEIsin Vietnam.
