In the effort to “fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training,” recently, compared to the requirements for teacher training in the new context, the rate of skill development for physical education students has not been high. The skills of some students are still limited, demonstrating awkwardness and a lack of proficiency in professional activities. This article discusses the skill development for students in physical education, including the desired skills to be enhanced and the level of skill improvement among physical education students at Tay Nguyen University. To achieve this, the skill development for physical education students needs to be implemented in a planned, scientific, organized, and strictly directed manner.
