In the 2018 General Education Curriculum, short stories are a typical genre, taught in all grades. Character analysis is an important skill, helping students discover the message and meaning of the work, etc. Differentiated teaching is a requirement and orientation of the general educational method of the 2018 General Education Curriculum. The article proposes some ways to apply some teaching methods and techniques according to the differentiated approach to guide 8th graders to analyze short story characters, contributing to improving the effectiveness of reading comprehension teaching in general education schools. Teaching methods and techniques according to the differentiated teaching approach are a potential solution, requiring effective teaching methods and techniques to help maximize learners' competency.Trong chương trình giáo dục phổ thông năm 2018, truyện ngắn là thể loại điển hình, được dạy ở tất cả các lớp. Phân tích nhân vật là một kỹ năng quan trọng, giúp học sinh khám phá thông điệp, ý nghĩa của tác phẩm... Dạy học phân hóa là một yêu cầu, định hướng của phương pháp giáo dục phổ thông của Chương trình Giáo dục phổ thông năm 2018. Bài viết đề xuất một số biện pháp vận dụng một số phương pháp, kĩ thuật dạy học theo tiếp cận phân hóa để hướng dẫn học sinh lớp 8 phân tích nhân vật truyện ngắn, góp phần nâng cao hiệu quả dạy học đọc hiểu ở trường phổ thông. Phương pháp, kỹ thuật dạy học theo phương pháp dạy học phân hóa là một giải pháp tiềm năng, đòi hỏi những phương pháp, kỹ thuật dạy học hiệu quả giúp phát huy tối đa năng lực của người học.
