Brâu is an ethnic group residing mainly in the border areas of the three Indochina countries. This ethnic group has strong cross-border relationships. The Vietnamese Brâu people were originally parts of the Brâu community in Laos and Cambodia who immigrated to Vietnam during the French colonial period. They currently reside in Đắk Mế village, Pờ Y commune, Ngọc Hồi district, Kon Tum province. As an ethnic minority with a very small population, they receive special attention f-rom the State. The religious life of the Brâu people is extremely rich and mysterious, expressing the identity of a people attached to the highlands. Based on the results of field research in Kon Tum province in August 2023 and April 2024, the article points out the connection between the beliefs of the Brâu people and cultural elements of the Central Highlands, and presents some previous “prejudices” about the traditional beliefs of the Brâu people in the cultural ensemble of the Central Highlands. F-rom there, the authors make some assessments and conclusions.Brâu là tộc người cư trú tập trung ở vùng biên giới của ba nước Đông Dương. Đây là dân tộc có mối quan hệ xuyên biên giới mạnh mẽ. Người Brâu Việt Nam vốn là bộ phận của cộng đồng Brâu ở Lào và Campuchia, di cư sang Việt Nam từ thời Pháp thuộc. Hiện nay, họ cư trú ở thôn Đắk Mế của xã Pờ Y, huyện Ngọc Hồi, tỉnh Kon Tum, thuộc nhóm các dân tộc rất ít người nên được sự quan tâm đặc biệt của Nhà nước. Đời sống tín ngưỡng của người Brâu vô cùng phong phú và huyền bí, thể hiện bản sắc của một tộc người gắn bó với vùng cao nguyên. Dựa trên kết quả nghiên cứu thực địa tại tỉnh Kon Tum vào tháng 8/2023 và tháng 4/2024, bài viết1 chỉ ra mối liên hệ giữa tín ngưỡng của người Brâu với các thành tố văn hóa Tây Nguyên, đồng thời nêu lên một số “định kiến” trước đó về tín ngưỡng truyền thống của người Brâu trong chỉnh thể văn hóa Tây Nguyên, từ đó nhóm tác giả đưa ra một số đánh giá và kết luận.
