This overview of the U.S. Department of Energy's Fuel Cell Technologies Program describes the program's focus and goals, along with current fuel cell applications and future potential. The program focuses on research and development of fuel cell systems for diverse applications in the stationary power, portable power, and transportation sectors. It works to reduce costs and improve technologiesto advance fuel cell uses in areas such as combined heat and power, auxiliary power units, portable power systems, and stationary and backup power.
