 As energy prices continue to climb there is an increasing interest in alternative, renewable energy sources. Currently, ?most of the energy consumed in the U.S. comes from fossil fuels - petroleum, coal, and natural gas, with crude oil-based petroleum products as the dominant source of energy?. The use of renewable energy has grown, but is only making a small dent in current consumption at about eight percent of the United States total. Another concern with the use of fossil fuels is the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and complications to the climate.
