The County of Placer, California utilized the Congressionally Directed Project via the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) award No. DE-FG36-08G088026 to facilitate a comprehensive project that integrated all facets of feasibility for the successful deployment of a woody biomass to energy project located within Placer County in the Lake Tahoe Region. A two-megawatt (MW) wood-to-energy biomass facility that would use a gasification technology was analyzed.
