The Thermal and Catalytic Process Development Unit at NREL has state-of-the-art equipment for thermochemical process development and testing, ranging from catalyst and feedstock characterizations to bench-scale reactors to pilot plants. Within this facility is the capability to understand structure-performance relationships for advanced catalytic materials to enable improved carbon yield and reduced costs for the targeted conversion of renewable feedstocks.
