NETL and Ramaco Carbon have developed an umbrella Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). This umbrella CRADA will be used to initiate detailed technical discussions for assessing projects in 3 general areas: 1) The conversion of coal to value-added solid carbon products such as carbon fiber and carbon nanomaterials, 2) The use of computational modeling for developing coal beneficiation processes, and 3) The development of technologies for extracting rare earth elements from coal, beneficiated coal, coal-byproducts and mining byproducts.
