Sử dụng phương pháp hồi quy đa biến với mô hình Tobit, bài báo phân tích ảnh hưởng của lượng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật (BVTV) sử dụng đến chi phí sức khỏe của người nông dân trồng lúa khu vực Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long. Kết quả ước lượng chỉ ra rằng, lượng thuốc BVTV mà người nông dân sử dụng có ảnh hưởng ý nghĩa đến gia tăng chi phí sức khỏe
và người nông dân sử dụng các biện pháp bảo vệ trong sử dụng thuốc BVTV sẽ làm giảm chi phí sức khỏe. Trên cơ sở đó, bài báo đưa ra một số hàm ý chính sách nhằm giảm thiểu ảnh hưởng của thuốc BVTV đến chi phí sức khỏe của các hộ nông dân trồng lúa.The paper analyzes the impact of pesticide use on the health costs of rice farmers exposed to pesticides in the Mekong Delta from the Tobit model. We study the impact of each pesticide on the health costs of sprayers. Besides, we also analyze the impact of other factors on health costs. The results show that the amount of pesticides that farmers use and drinking alcohol increases health costs, while protective measures reduce health costs. The study also provides some policy recommendations to minimize the impact of pesticides on the health costs of farmer households.
