The Government of Indonesia (GoI) launched its Public State Insurance Program (Asuransi Barang Milik Negara, ABMN) in 2019. Since then, the still ongoing development of the program has provided valuable insights, including on stakeholder management, and how to tackle various financial and technical challenges, helping it to capitalize on the opportunities that have contributed to its success to date. This document presented the implementation of the ABMN program beginning with pilot activities in 2019 through December 31, 2023. This document has three objectives: informing the GoI: to prepare government officials with the relevant knowledge to guide future decisions and strategies for the ABMN program (including potential expansion to other line ministries and the subnational- level governments
supporting DRFI implementation: to provide valuable information for government officials tasked with implementing other aspects of Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (DRFI), specifically the Pooling Fund Bencana (PFB)
and global knowledge-sharing: to act as a reference for officials in other countries in the process of designing, undertaking, or maintaining public asset insurance programs.
