Ardisia silvestris Pitard is a valuable medicinal herb containing tannins and glucodid with anti-inflammatory and healing scarring effects while providing support for stomach treatment. This reserch was implemented to supplement the information on ecological and morphological characteristics of this species in Le Lai, Duc Long, Duc Thong communes of Thach An district. The research used a field survey and sample plot method in association. The research results showed that Ardisia silvestris Pitard has been naturally found in the secondary forests near forest edges, and along streams, where the climate is humid,elevations from 300 - 600 m, the average temperature is about 20-240C

Ripe rruits are globose and red with the diameter around 7-8 mm.Khôi tía (Ardisia silvestris Pitard) là một loại dược liệu quý có chứa tanin và glucodid, có tác dụng chống viêm, làm liền sẹo và hỗ trợ điều trị dạ dày. Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện nhằm bổ sung các thông tin về đặc điểm sinh thái, hình thái của loài Khôi tía tại 3 xã Lê Lai, Đức Long, Đức Thông của huyện Thạch An. Nghiên cứu đã sử dụng phương pháp điều tra thực địa theo tuyến và ô tiêu chuẩn. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy, tại khu vực nghiên cứu, Khôi tía phân bố chủ yếu ở các rừng thứ sinh, khe suối, nơi có khí hậu ẩm mát, độ cao từ 300 – 600 m, nhiệt độ trung bình khoảng 20 - 240C, độ ẩm không khí trung bình từ 81 - 84%, lượng mưa từ 1.195,6 mm - 1.648,9 mm, độ che sáng từ 50 – 70%. Đất nơi Khôi tía phân bố có màu từ xám nhạt đến xám đen, tầng đất mặt rất tơi xốp, nhiều mùn. Cây Khôi tía cao khoảng 50 – 200 cm, lá mọc so le, sít nhau ở đầu thân, phiến hình giáo ngược hoặc trứng ngược, đầu thon và nhọn, màu lục sẫm ở trên, nhạt màu hơn ở dưới hoặc có màu đỏ tím, mép khía răng cưa nhỏ. Hoa mọc thành chùm, dài 10 – 15 m, màu trắng pha hồng tím. Quả hình cầu, chín có màu đỏ, đường kính 7 – 8 mm.
