Language of media news is among the representations of the common national language. The language has its own peculiarities as a platform of mass media. It must be clear, vivid, fresh, and popular to the public. The press must “speak” a common standard language conveying cultural features. Through recent data, the article analyzes some positive and negative aspects in the language of Vietnamese media news nowadays. Besides linguistic contributions such as in diversifying styles and vocabularies, the press also needs to improve its attitudes towards mistakes as well arguments skills.Ngôn ngữ báo chí là một mặt biểu hiện của ngôn ngữ toàn dân. “Ngôn ngữ báo chí” mang đặc thù riêng của hoạt động truyền thông đại chúng. Ngôn ngữ báo chí cần rõ ràng, sinh động, tươi mới và không quá xa lạ với mọi người. Báo chí cần sử dụng một ngôn ngữ thông dụng, chuẩn và mang tính văn hóa. Qua tư liệu khảo sát gần đây, bài viết phân tích một vài mặt tích cực và tiêu cực biểu hiện trong ngôn ngữ báo chí ở Việt Nam hiện nay.
