Although terrestrial snails have such diversity and certain potential applications, they are still poorly studied in Vietnam, especially in limestone regions. The present study represents the first record of operculate terrestrial snail Lagocheilus klobukowskii (Morlet, 1885) in Vietnam. The species was found and collected from the isolated limestone hills of Son La, Dong Nai and Kien Giang Provinces. The specimens were identified using morphologic characters including shell shape, exterior sculpturing, aperture, and shape of operculate. This new discovery contributes to brings the number of species of genus Lagocheilus in Vietnam to nine species. L. klobukowskii is characterized by medium size, conical, high spire
shell sculpting of various colors and patterns, often appearing a dark brown band at the periphery of body whorl

umbilicus open.Khu hệ ốc cạn Việt Nam được đánh giá là đa dạng và có nhiều tiềm năng ứng dụng, tuy vậy chúng vẫn còn ít được biết đến, đặc biệt ở những vùng đá vôi. Bài báo hiện tại ghi nhận lần đầu tiên loài ốc cạn có nắp miệng Lagocheilus klobukowskii (Morlet, 1885) tại Việt Nam. Loài này được phát hiện và thu mẫu từ sinh cảnh núi đá vôi cô lập tại tỉnh Sơn La, Đồng Nai và Kiên Giang. Mẫu vật được định loại bằng đặc điểm hình thái vỏ, gồm hình dạng vỏ, điêu khắc, lỗ miệng vỏ và hình thái cấu trúc nắp miệng. Phát hiện mới này góp phần nâng tổng số loài thuộc giống Lagocheilus tại Việt Nam lên chín loài. Loài L. klobukowskii đặc trưng bởi cỡ trung bình, vỏ hình nón, tháp ốc cao
điêu khắc trên vỏ đa dạng với nhiều màu sắc và hoa văn, thường xuất hiện một dải màu nâu đậm ở ngoại vi vòng xoắn cuối
vành miệng dày, dạng đơn, không mở rộng
nắp miệng khá dày, hình đĩa, phía ngoài có nhiều gờ sắc xoắn theo chiều kim đồng hồ
lỗ rốn rộng.
