Knighting (sac phong) is one of the types of documents under a king’s authority, used to confer titles on and reward meritorious mandarins in fighting the enemy to defend the country or in reclaiming hamlets and establishing villages, legendary characters, and natural phenomena (Natural God). The knighting is not only a mark of a king's authority, but also a dynasty’s affirmation to the characters, who has made merit to the country and the people so that their descendants and clans are proud of them and their homeland and villages are famous for their merits. The article outlines the knighting and preservation methods and proposes some solutions to improve the preservation and promotion of this precious archival source in An Giang provinceSắc phong là một trong những loại hình văn bản thuộc quyền ban hành của nhà vua, dùng để phong tước, khen thưởng cho các công thần trong đánh giặc giữ nước, khai ấp mở làng, hay các nhân vật huyền thoại, một số hiện tượng thiên nhiên (nhiên thần). Sắc phong không chỉ là dấu ấn uy quyền của nhà vua mà còn là sự khẳng định của vương triều đối với nhân vật có công với nước với dân để con cháu họ tộc được tự hào và quê hương, làng xã được thơm danh. Bài viết khái quát về sắc phong, cách thức bảo quản và đề xuất một số giải pháp hoàn thiện công tác bảo quản và phát huy nguồn sử liệu lưu trữ quý hiếm này trên địa bàn tỉnh An Giang
