Securities market plays an important role in an economy, it gives the effective ways to mobilize investment capital for governments and enterprises, transparency investment environment as well as reflecting the health of the economy and business. After 17 years of operation, Vietnam securities market has shown the significant development and its own roles. In particular, in the context of economics worldwide has many convenient development conditions in 2017, Vietnam securities market has seen remarkable growth and considered a memorable year for Vietnam stock market. This research introduces the development of Vietnam securities market, limitations, causes and some suggestions to enhance the development of securities market in Vietnam in the futureThị trường chứng khoán (TTCK) có vai trò quan trọng đối với nền kinh tế mỗi nước, là kênh huy động vốn hữu hiệu cho Chính phủ và doanh nghiệp, cung cấp môi trường đầu tư cho các chủ thể tham gia và là phong vũ biểu phản ánh sức khỏe của nền kinh tế và doanh nghiệp. Sau hơn 17 năm hoạt động, TTCK Việt Nam đã có những bước phát triển vượt bậc và phát huy tốt chức năng và vai trò của mình. Năm 2017, trong bối cảnh tình hình kinh tế thế giới và trong nước có nhiều thuận lợi1, TTCK đã có bước tăng trưởng vượt bậc, được xem là một năm đáng nhớ đối với TTCK V iệt Nam. Bài viết giới thiệu đôi nét về sự phát triển TTCK Việt Nam thời gian qua, các hạn chế và nguyên nhân cũng như đề xuất các khuyến nghị thúc đẩy sự phát triển TTCK.
