 This paper presents a study of “Identification of the non-English majoredstudents’ pronunciation mistakes in pronouncing “ed” ending at Haiphong university”.The samples consist of thirty two non-English majored students at the first semester in aclass of Haiphong university. This research uses the quantitative method. This paperaims to show the mistakes that the students made in pronouncing the -ed ending. Theresearch shows that many mistakes in pronouncing the -ed ending were made by thestudents. The -ed ending pronounced as /id/ was the easiest for the students to pronounceexactly with the least mistakes made by them. The -ed ending pronounced as /t/ and /d/were pronounced like Vietnamese sounds by a number of the students
  “ed” ending wasnot pronounced or mispronounced by some of the students. These findings became thebase for the English teacher to design and implement English teaching tasks that helpedthe students correct the mistakes.
