The research and development of clean energy sources to gradually replacefossil fuel sources and contribute to reducing environmental pollution is aninevitable trend. Specifically, an alternative energy source that uses petroleum asa mode of transportation. Today, the development of electric vehicles has quicklybeen the focus of many countries. This is considered an effective solution toensure energy security and environmental problems. In Vietnam, the number ofinternal combustion engine vehicles is very large, the policies to support electricvehicles are not complete, and the infrastructure is not yet ready, so thetransition to using electric vehicles is really a big and complicated problem.Currently, there is no comprehensive study on the situation and developmenttrend of electric vehicles in Vietnam. In this article, we present the current statusof automobile development in Vietnam and the factors affecting thedevelopment of electric vehicles through an expert workshop, proposing longterm solutions through experiences from countries such as Thailand andIndonesia.Việc nghiên cứu và phát triển các nguồn năng lượng sạch để dần thay thếnguồn nhiên liệu hóa thạch góp phần giảm thải ô nhiễm môi trường là một xuthế tất yếu. Đặc biệt nguồn năng lượng thay thế dầu mỏ sử dụng cho các phươngtiện giao thông vận tải. Ngày nay, phát triển xe điện đã nhanh chóng được nhiềuquốc gia chú trọng. Đây được coi là giải pháp hiệu quả trong việc đảm bảo anninh năng lượng và các vấn đề môi trường. Tại Việt Nam, số lượng các phươngtiện động cơ đốt trong rất lớn, các chính sách hỗ trợ xe điện, cơ sở hạ tầng chưahoàn thiện nên việc chuyển đổi sang sử dụng xe điện thực sự là vấn đề lớn vàphức tạp. Hiện nay chưa có nghiên cứu nào toàn diện về tình hình và xu thế pháttriển của xe điện tại Việt Nam. Bài báo này trình bày thực trạng phát triển ô tô tạiViệt Nam và các yếu tố tác động đến sự phát triển xe điện qua hội thảo chuyêngia, đề xuất giải pháp lâu dài thông qua bài học từ các quốc gia như Thái Lan,Indonesia.
