Accurate assessment of air pollution levels in work[1]places and surrounding environments requires the sam[1]pling of particulate matter (PM) by size. To address this need, the Center for Research and Technology Trans[1]fer (Cretech) has developed the ManPMS - PM weight sampler device, which adheres to the standards set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 40- CFR Part 50. The device comprises a PM10 dust sampler head (VAST-PM10L-1) designed to capture particles with a diameter <
10 µm on a filter by impaction, with a suction flow rate of 16.67 L/min (equivalent to 1 m3 /h). The sampler head collects PM particles, draws in a gas sample from the ambient air under calm wind condi[1]tions, and simultaneously removes particles with sizes ≥ 10 µm. The PM2.5 separator unit (VAST-PM2.5-WINS), placed below the PM10 sampler head, is also designed to meet EPA standards. It functions as a pre-separator for particles larger than or equal to 2.5 µm, while re[1]moving impurities such as water and debris. The Man[1]PMS system includes additional components such as exhaust pipes, air suction pumps, a controlled air flow rate system through the filter, an air flow rate measure[1]ment device, ambient temperature monitoring, a filter holder bracket, atmospheric pressure measurement, a timer, and a housing that complies with the regulations specified in 40-CFR Part 50 of the US EPA.Để đánh giá mức độ ô nhiễm không khí tại các nơi làm việc hoặc xung quanh môi trường, việc thu mẫu theo kích thước hạt bụi (Particulate Matter - PM) là rất quan trọng. Với mục tiêu này, Trung tâm Nghiên cứu và chuyển giao công nghệ (Cretech) đã phát triển ManPMS - thiết bị thu mẫu trọng lượng theo tiêu chuẩn của US EPA (40-CFR Part 50). Thiết bị này gồm đầu thu mẫu bụi PM10 (VAST-PM10L-1) được thiết kế theo nguyên tắc tác động theo tầng phù hợp để thu gom các hạt bụi có đường kính <
10 µm trên cái lọc, với lưu lượng hút 16,67 L/min (tương đương 1 m3 /h). Chức năng của đầu thu mẫu trên thiết bị là thu gom hạt bụi PM, trích xuất một mẫu sol khí từ khí quyển trong cả điều kiện lặng gió và đồng thời loại bỏ các hạt có kích thước ≥ 10 µm. Bộ tách PM2.5 (VAST-PM2.5-WINS) được đặt phía dưới đầu thu mẫu PM10 và cũng được thiết kế theo tiêu chuẩn của EPA, có chức năng như một bộ tách trước các hạt có kích thước lớn hơn hoặc bằng 2,5 µm, cũng như loại bỏ các tạp chất như nước và mảnh vụn. Ngoài ra, ManPMS còn bao gồm các thành phần khác như ống xả, bơm hút khí, hệ thống điều khiển lưu lượng dòng khí đi qua cái lọc, thiết bị đo lưu lượng dòng khí, hệ thống giám sát nhiệt độ môi trường và cụm giá đỡ cái lọc, hệ thống đo áp suất khí quyển, bộ hẹn giờ, vỏ hộp đáp ứng quy định của US EPA (40-CFR Part 50).
