Problem-solving capacity is the core competency that needs to be developed for students to train good engineers for the country. Among university teaching methods, the flipped classroom model has many advantages to develop students’ problem-solving capacity. However, at present, there are few studies on the flipped classroom model to develop problem solving capacity for university students in Viet Nam. Therefore, it is necessary to study the application of the flipped classroom model to develop problem-solving capacity for university students. In this article, we introduce the application of the flipped classroom model through the general chemistry course to develop students’ problem-solving capacity. Experimental results have shown that the flipped classroom model has developed problemsolving capacity for university students.
