In the current era of an integrated economy, English has become a tool for international communication. Therefore, innovating English teaching and learning methods to improve learners’ communication ability is becoming increasingly important in educational institutions. The introduction of the communicative approach in English teaching method has brought a lot of effects, especially for teaching and learning English grammar. Thanks to this method, learners can promote their English communication ability. The article is based on the author’s teaching practical base and English grammar learning ability of students who are studying basic English courses at Hanoi Open University in general to analyze the current situation, thereby proposing some solutions to improve teaching methods of English Grammar for non-major students at Hanoi Open University.
