Self-directed learning is an important factor in improving the quality of training at the university level. Students’ self-directed learning is not natural, but it must go through a long process of self-training. In addition to their internal factors, students need great support from a team of academic advisors. It is the team of academic advisors who will make a great contribution to the process of improving students’ positivity, initiative and creativity and effectively promoting their self-directed learning spirit. This article raises the concept of autonomous learning, what is the supportive role of the academic advisor in the autonomous learning of students.
