Brookite, one of TiO2 phases, were successfully synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance UV–Visible spectroscopy (DRS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmissing electron microscope (TEM). Modifying of TiO2 brookite nanorods surface with gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) by the cold plasma technique was investigated. Photocatalytic properties of samples were evaluated through the photodegradation of dyes rhodamine 101 (RB101). The TiO2-Au photocatalysts are active under visible light while the pure TiO2 brookite exhibited high activity under the ultraviolet light.
