From stems and leaves of Stixis scandens, compounds were successfully isolated including: icariside B1 (1), bergenin (2), icariside B5 (3), benzyl alcohol β-D-glucopyranoside (4), adenosine (5), cis-syringin (6), ginsenoside Rg1 (7), lyoniresinol 3α-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (8). The identification of the chemical structure of these compounds was established via analysis of their nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra alongside a comparative examination of published literature regarding such spectra. These compounds were first reported in Stixis scandes. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 cells
