Prices manipulating on the stock market is considered as intentionally behaviour that impacting onstock price via violating the law of supply and demand or other activities, in order to achieve abnormal returnfor individual or group of investors. This article analyzes the current situation of stock price manipulationactions taking place in the period 2015- 2022. By studying real events and examining common methodsused to manipulate prices, including: fraudulent financial statements
illegal insider trading
wash tradingand spreading false rumors on Vietnam stock exchange, the results show that the number of informationdisclosure violations predominates and continuously increases over the years. The number of cases relatedto price manipulation by wash trading and insider trading account for a very small proportion becausethe nature of these cases is difficult to determine and complex. These results contribute further empiricalevidence and critical voices to build a sustainable and more transparent stock market in the future.Thao túng giá trên thị trường chứng khoán được xem là hành vi cố ýgây tác động đến giá chứng khoán nhằm đạt mục tiêu lợi nhuận vượt trội choriêng một hoặc một nhóm những người tham gia thị trường. Bài viết này phântích thực trạng hành vi thao túng giá chứng khoán Việt Nam diễn ra trong giaiđoạn 2015- 2022. Bằng việc nghiên cứu các sự kiện thực tiễn trên cơ sở xemxét các phương thức phổ biến được sử dụng để thao túng giá gồm: gian lậnbáo cáo tài chính
giao dịch nội bộ bất hợp pháp
giao dịch wash trade và tungtin đồn thất thiệt. Kết quả cho thấy số vụ vi phạm công bố thông tin chiếm ưuthế và liên tục tăng lên qua các năm. Số vụ việc liên quan đến thao túng giábằng wash trade và giao dịch nội gián chiếm tỷ lệ ít hơn do tính chất của các vụviệc này rất khó xác định và phức tạp. Những kết quả nghiên cứu này đóng gópthêm minh chứng và tiếng nói phản biện nhằm xây dựng một thị trường chứng khoán phát triển bền vững và minh bạch hơn trong thời gian tới.
