Extracurricular activities in defense and security education are very important to help students develop thinking, promote physical and intellectual capacity, and know how to apply knowledge has been learned into practice. At the same time, extracurricular activities also help students learn how to research on their own to improve and expand their knowledge and have more motivation to study, have more interest and positive attitude in learning and training in Defense and Security Education. On the other hand, extracurricular activities in the Defense and Security Education also help students express their talents, promote flexible behavior, improve soft skills and form teamwork skills. Through extracurricular activities in the Defense and Security Education, students are provided with additional knowledge and skills that the main curriculum does not have. They are going to have opportunities to practice positive attitudes, behaviors, lifestyles, and improve love of country to ready participating in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.Hoạt động ngoại khóa môn học giáo dục quốc phòng và an ninh (GDQP&AN) là một nội dung rất quan trọng giúp cho sinh viên phát triển về tư duy, phát huy năng lực hoạt động thể chất và trí tuệ, biết vận dụng những kiến thức quốc phòng, an ninh đã học vào thực tiễn. Đồng thời hoạt động ngoại khóa còn giúp cho sinh viên biết cách tự tìm hiểu nghiên cứu để nâng cao mở rộng kiến thức và có thêm động lực học tập, yêu thích hơn môn học GDQP&AN và có thái độ tích cực trong học tập, rèn luyện. Mặt khác, hoạt động ngoại khóa môn học GDQP&AN còn giúp cho sinh viên thể hiện năng khiếu của bản thân, phát huy khả năng ứng xử linh hoạt, nâng cao kĩ năng mềm và hình thành kỹ năng làm việc nhóm. Thông qua hoạt động ngoại khóa môn học GDQP&AN sinh viên được cung cấp thêm các kiến thức, kỹ năng mà chương trình chính khóa không có và có thêm điều kiện rèn luyện thái độ, hành vi, lối sống tích cực, nâng cao tinh thần yêu nước sẵn sàng tham gia vào sự nghiệp xây dựng và bảo vệ Tổ quốc.
