Objective: The goal of this study is to evaluate the safe and effective outcomes of totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy for gastric cancer in elderly patients. Materials and Methods: Describe the rescue study of 35 patients who underwent totally laparascopic total gastrectomy for gastric cancers between July 2017 and May 2020. Results: Mean age 68.5
gastric cancer at stage IA, IB, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, IIIC were 5.7%, 17.1%, 34.3%, 14.3%, 5.7%, 17.1%, 5,7%. The average operating time was 207.8 mins
The average number of lymph node groups dissected was 21.7. 2.9% had complications intra-operative complication and 5.8% had complications post-operative complication. No postoperative deaths. The average length of postoperative hospital stay was 8.4 days. Overall survival time was 33,9 months. Conclusions: Totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy is a safe and effective procedure for treatment of gastric cancer in elderly patients. The benefits of totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy include less postoperative pain and faster recovery time, reduce length of post-operative hospital stay.
