Extranodal marginal zone lymphomas of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (EMZL-MALT) have been linked to chronic immune stimulation due to infection or autoimmune stimuli. The causal association between Helicobacter pylori (HP) and gastric MALT lymphoma has been well demonstrated. HPeradication with antibiotics has emerged as the standard therapy for early stage HP positive gastric MALT lymphoma. High response rates and long-term survival have been reported inpatients with localized gastric MALT lymphomatreated with low-doseradiationtherapy. Monoclonal antibody and chemotherapy are reserved forpatients failing or recurring after RT and those with advanced stage disease.
