Rehabilitation (Rehab) is a long-term process in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) to recover language, motor, and sensory functions, ... and thereby preventing or treating secondary complications, thus improve the quality of life. Rehab could be a persistent term and requires supports from health staffs, especially nursing and therapists. The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Rehab process on motor function in TBI patients. 36 post TBI patients with secondary sequelae of hemiplegia and had been treated through the acute phase, stabilized their living functions and took Rehab in the Department of Traditional Medicine - Physiotherapy - Rehabilitation, Military Hospital No 211 was assessed on the motor functions before and after the Rehab. course. The results showed that there were higher proportions of TBI in males at labor-range age with paralysis degree of moderate and severe when got the Rehab course often after 6-12 weeks since the occurance of accident. The 30-90 days Rehab course improved basic motor function via the MAS scale as well as in daily activities (Barthel score). The time of coma affected the restoration of high level motor function. Thus, rehabilitation has contributed to improving motor function in patients with hemiplegia after TBI.
