Background: Periarthritis of the shoulderis a common disease of soft tissue disorders, around 2% of population. Tendinitis is the most popular, 90% of periarthritis humeroscapularis cases. The main symptoms are pain and limited movement of shoulder joint that affects the daily life of the patients.Today, the combination of traditional medicine and physical therapy is often used in clinical practice, including ultrasound therapeutic. This study aims toinvestigate some clinical characteristics of patients periarthritis humeroscapularis. Comparison of the effects of electroacupuncture, herbal formulas, massage with or not combined with ultrasound therapy in the treatment for periarthritis humeroscapularis’s tendinitis. Methods: Including 60 patients diagnosedas simple periarthritis of the shoulder who treated at Thua Thien Hue Traditional Medicine Hospital. The study was designed by the method of prospective study, which evaluated the results before and after treatment. Results: After 10 days of treatment, the group 1 included good results: 10.0%, fair goodresults: 56.7%, medium results: 33.3%. The group 1 includedvery good results: 13.3%, good results: 50%, fair good results: 26.7%, medium results: 10,0%. During the treatment, there were no clinically significant side effects. Conclusion: The treatment by electroacupuncture, herbal formulas, massage with ultrasound therapy results in high clinical effectiveness.
