This paper aims to provide a review of Processing Instruction (PI),an input-based method which is believed to enhance students' acquisition ofgrammatical points. The theoretical background and main characteristics of thisapproach will be discussed in order to highlight the differences it holds with othergrammar instructions in foreign language teaching. Types of activities as well as specificexamples will then be included, which would be of great help to teachers who want toimplement this approach.
