Motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, is a factor in student success at every stage of educa-tion and teachers can play a key role in providing and encouraging that motivation in students, especially with English courses. However, all students are motivated differently and it takes time and effort to have a class filled with students who are enthusiastic about learning, hardworking and push themselves forward. The purpose of this article is to synthesize the theoretical basis of types of motivation and factors affecting the learning motivation of students majoring in Preschool Education at Kien Giang College of Education, from which the author proposes solutions to increase students' motivation to learn English.
