Utilizing commonly employed scientific research methods in the field of sports, this study assesses the current state of extracurricular sports activities at the University of Economics and Business - Thai Nguyen University. The evaluation encompasses various aspects such as the nature of activities, the number of participants, training motivations, the organization density of the university’s sports competitions, and factors leading to students’ lack of participation in extracurricular sports. The findings from this assessment serve as a foundation for selecting and implementing measures aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of extracurricular physical activities. Simultaneously, these measures contribute to improving the physical fitness and academic performance of the university’s students.
