Thispaperdealswithanexperimentalandnumericalapproachtoadaptresistivitymeasurements,usuallydevelopedingeophysics,forthein-situmonitoringofmoisturecontentinstructuraltimber.Thismethodleadstoidentifyingtimberresistivityfields,inrelationtomoisturecontent,bycrosscheckingthecurrentlinesinjectedbyelectrodesconnectedtothereachablesurfacesoftheinvestigatedtimberelement.Moreprecisely,itiscomposedoftheinversionofanumericalmodelofelectricalcurrentinjectionimplementedinafiniteelementsoftware,throughamethodtominimizetheerrorbetweensimulationandmeasurements.Forstarters,thedirectmodelreproducesthephysicalmeasurementthecurrentinjectionandpotentialdifferencemeasurementfromanelectricalquadrupole.Next,theinversionalgorithmreconstructsthetimberresistivityfieldfromthemeasuredresistivitydata.
