The study investigates activities of school council under school - basedmanagement at General Schools in Vietnam. A correlation survey method was adopted forthe study. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 80 respondentscomprising of principals, vice principals, teachers in General schools in Vietnam. SPSSsoftware was used to calculate the frequency, average point and Cronbach's Alphacoefficient to process the research results obtained from the questionnaire. The findingsrevealed that members of School Council only consist of Principals, Vice Principals,Teacher internal schools. There is no external school joint into the School council. Therelationship existing between community and school is ineffective. The issue that schoolcouncil decides is also limited. In the future, the research recommends that school-basedmanagement in Vietnam should be set up to foster the participation of communities inschool activitiesDOI 10.18173/2354-1075.2019-0138
