English has always been proven to be the secret to success in most fields in Vietnam today. Most businesses and organizations use English as an almost mandatory requirement when looking for a job. However, many college graduates have difficulty in finding jobs related to their field of study, and more than half of graduates have to undergo retraining after being hired. The main objective of this study is to learn about the attitudes of first-year students towards teachers’ activities focusing on solving categorical questions in tests and to evaluate the reliability and validity of the content of the current final achievement tests used by first-year students in the College of Law. The first reason is to investigate the compatibility between the content of the test specification and the content of the final achievement test as evidence for the content validity of the test. The second step is to determine the level of reliability and statistical evidence for the content validity of the test based on the final achievement test results. Last but not least, let’s offer some suggestions for improving the reliability and validity of the test.
