This study aimed to examine how dictation can help students improve their listening comprehension as well as the challenges they face and how they feel about using dictation to do so. The study uses tests and questionnaires as well as teaching diaries and interviews. According to the research results, listening comprehension has improved significantly and the majority of students appreciate dictation. Additionally, it is believed that the listener, real-life context, speaker, linguistic features, and content are all factors that contribute to students’ difficulty in developing listening skills through reading spelling skills. In order to support students and teachers in implementing new methods of learning and teaching English, some methods are proposed in teaching English to learners.
