The direction of landscape research in the world has developed and therehave been many changes suitable to the actual context. The European LandscapeConvention (ELC) encourages countries to identify and describe landscapes thatcover their entire territory. Therefore, many new methods of landscape research areformed, diversified and flexible, depending on the research purpose and specificcharacteristics of each territory. Lang Son is a mountainous province in theNortheast region of the country with many differences in the tropical monsoonnature, typical mountainous areas. Therefore, studying the nature anddifferentiation of landscapes, assessing the landscape of the province according to amulti-dimensional, comprehensive approach, adhering to the maximum localreality, the author uses the dominant method approaching the new trend of WesternEuropean scientists. The main result is to identify new unique points to offer amulti-level classification picture of typical landscape types of the mountainousregion of Lang Son a comprehensive study of the whole territory without any realworks before
