Quản trị tàisản trí tuệ có vai trò rất quan trọng. Mộtsố trường đại học lớn trên thế giới đã đưa sở hữu trí tuệ vào giảng dạy hệ đại học, chuyên ngành sở hữu trí tuệ ở bậc sau đại học, thành lập bộ phận chuyên trách về sở hữu trí tuệ để quản trị tài sản trí tuệ, góp phần nâng cao chất lượng hoạt động đổi mới sáng tạo và khẳng định vị thế khoa học của các trường đại học. Ở Việt Nam, quản trị tài sản trí tuệ vẫn khá mới. Tuy đã có một số trường đại học bắt đầu thành lập bộ phận chuyên trách về sở hữu trí tuệ, nhưng hoạt động vẫn còn lúng túng, chưa được triển khai sâu rộng và mang lại hiệu quả thiết thực như mong muốn. Some universities have taught the knowledge of Intellectual Property, and train the major of Intellectual Property at graduate level, and established a specialized department on intellectual property to manage intellectual property. These activities contribute to improving the quality of scientific research works and affirming the brands of universities. Meanwhile in Vietnam, intellectual property in universities is still a quite new issue. Although some universities have implemented intellectual property activities and started to set up a specialized department on intellectual property, but the operation is still confused, has not been implemented extensively and effectively and has not had realistic results as expected. This paper presents: 1) The role of intellectual property in universities and research institutes
2) Intellectual property management solutions
3) Steps for the operation, administration and protection of intellectual property as well as measures for the proper management and effective use of intellectual property.
