In learning foreign languages, listening skills are very important, but also the most difficult skills for students of People’s Security Academy. From the pratical teaching experiences, the author would like to exchange applying aural authentic materials to supplement the teaching process and improve students’ motivation in listening sessions. The article reviews the value of aural authentic materials like an indispensable bridge to reflect the real-life language and narrow the distance between the learners and the target language used in reality. The article also shares the experiences in selecting aural authentic materials, contributing to improve the quality of teaching listening skills at the People’s Security Academy in the coming time.
